Stars in their ice

SOLWAY Stars and Solway Eclipse received a Masterclass in choreography last weekend.

The synchronised skating teams are due to take part in a national competition next month and wanted some expert help in perfecting their routines.

Choreographer to the stars Richard Marcel went along to training sessions at the DG One sports complex and Dumfries Ice Bowl on January 3.

The Solway Stars and Solway Eclipse will travel to Sheffield next month to compete in NISA British Open Synchronised Skating Championships.

Richard (pictured above with the girls), who is an established choreographer, was presented with the ISTD Imperial Dance Sport Award in 2005.

He has made his name working alongside the likes of Madonna, Kylie Minogue, George Michael, Diana Ross and Sonique.

He has also helped choreograph routines on Strictly Come Dancing, Happy Birthday Brucie and The Wedding Show to name a few.
