A WINDFARM worker hacked off the top of his finger in a horror accident on Sunday afternoon.
The 45-year-old commercial marine surveyor was working on the Robin Rigg offshore wind farm in the Solway Firth when the accident happened.
Kirkcudbright Lifeboat and Coastguard were called to the scene and rushed the Portsmouth man – and the tip of his finger in a bag of ice – to the mainland, where he was treated at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Robin Rigg wind farm will feature 60 turbines once finished and generate enough power for around 120,000 homes.
