Brydekirk pupils get scientific

BRYDEKIRK Primary School pupils have taken delivery of new science kits, containing robust components to be used by classes to construct electrical circuits and battery operated models.

The new kits are very user friendly, allowing the younger children to also take part in the learning experience. The equipment is being used as part of the school’s electricity project and has been funded by the £500 they were given by Magnox North Chapelcross Nuclear Power Station near Annan under its SEE Project.

The SEE Project has given 24 primaries £500 each and the four secondary schools £1,000 each to set up a science, enterprise or environment themed project of their own design in the 2008/9 school year.

Mrs Turnbull, the headteacher, said: “We are very grateful to Magnox North Chapelcross for their interest in our pupils’ learning and for their valued financial support. The new materials will greatly enhance their skills and experiences in science and technology.”
