GEORGETOWN Primary School pupil Peter Sanders has another title success in chess to add to his already huge haul.
The 11-year-old is the current Scottish Champion for his age group, and last weekend he competed in the Chess for Kicks Scottish final P6/7 which was held at Braehead Arena, winning first prize.
This is the third consecutive year that Peter has held a Scottish title.
In the short time he has been playing chess, he has played for the Scotland International squad three times against the home countries.
This July he has been selected to play in the under 14’s Scotland squad, and in September this year he has been selected to play in Italy in the Euro Youth Championship.
Peter, who is a regular member at the Dumfries and District Chess Club at the Birkhill on a Tuesday night, recently took part in a sponsored cycle to help raise funds to enable him to take part.
Peter’s parents would like to thank everyone who has supported him in making this dream come true.
