The Bright Lights and Number 1 singer will take to the main stage on Saturday, September 15.
He will join X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke and Britain’s Got Talent stars Stavros Flatley at the event in Dock Park, Dumfries.
Tinchy told the Standard: “I can’t wait to perform at Youth Beatz. My Scottish fans always make sure there is a brilliant atmosphere.”
Tinchy Stryder’s back catalogue includes six top 10 singles, more than 22 million digital record sales and collaborations with the likes of Taio Cruz, N-Dubz, Pixie Lott, and Dumfries-born Calvin Harris.
As well as two sell-out UK headline tours, Tinchy has performed at the Glastonbury Festival, T4 on the Beach, BBC Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend and the 2011 UEFA Champions League final.
Thousands of young people are expected to flock to the town to attend Scotland’s largest free youth music event, now in its fourth year.
A young person from the events team involved in organising Youth Beatz said: “We are delighted to have secured Tinchy Stryder. This year will definitely be the biggest and best Youth Beatz yet!”
The event was created in partnership with and at the request of young people. Last year it attracted a capacity audience of 12,000.
Nithsdale Area Committee contributed towards the cost of the event. Chairman Gill Dykes, said: “Demand for tickets has been phenomenal and organisers have advised that anyone wishing to attend the event should order tickets now to avoid disappointment.”
Youth Beatz 2012 remains free to enter, although tickets will be required and can be obtained from www.youthbeatz.co.uk.
